I’ve always sketched from nature for as long as I can remember. My preferred subjects are birds, fish, trees, architecture, dogs and countryside. The translucency of watercolours became the natural

complement to my drawings. Nowadays I also use acrylic paints. True, they too can be used for their transparency but can also pack a punch when a more solid, opaque finish is sought.
